On the eve of Boris Moiseev’s 70th birthday, we talked with Sergei Gorokh and found out who continues to remember the artist a year and a half after his passing.
— Boris has not been with us for almost two years. In memory of him, we will do everything as expected: a memorial service will be held, colleagues, friends, and members of Boris’s team will gather. I didn’t specifically invite anyone, but I announced it on social networks, and after that I received a lot of calls. I hope that people will come, but even if someone doesn’t come, I know that Boris would not be offended, because he still remained a beloved artist and person in people’s hearts.
— Boris has a brother, as we all know. Is he aware that there will be a memorial service?
— Unfortunately, I have no direct connection with my brother. At one time, I invited him to the opening of the monument, to which he did not come; I had no further connection with him. The only thing I know is that in some interview he thanked us for the monument, which he really liked. He said that I did everything as it should be. There were no attacks against me. He knows my phone number, he knew Bori’s phone number for many years, but all this time he didn’t get in touch.
– How are things going with Moiseev’s apartment?
“I don’t rent it out and don’t live there because I’m doing renovations.” I haven’t yet thought about the interior, what exactly will be there, or the future fate of the apartment. I just need to update it, because the apartment has been standing for a long time without renovation. I can say that I saved all of Boris’s suits, they are carefully stored in a separate warehouse, they are in good condition. I hope that the time will come when I will make a big exhibition, because there are costumes collected there, starting with the legendary performance of Alla Pugacheva “I came and say”, where the “Expression” trio were the leaders of the backing and ballet. Gifts, awards, and prizes are also stored there. Perhaps we will do a concert that will be dedicated to the memory of Boris. We will give new life to his songs, he left a huge creative testament. I think we will make a big event out of this, but we need to wait a little.
— Have you discussed these ideas with Alla Borisovna?
“We are constantly in touch, and she helped me with advice about the monument. And I know that there will definitely be flowers and a wreath from her at the funeral service, I know that she remembers Bor.
