Art critic Oleg Krivtsun found dead in an apartment in Moscow – Kommersant

Russian art critic, cultural scientist and editor of the scientific journal “Artistic Culture” Oleg Krivtsun died at the age of 69. His body was found by a housekeeper in an apartment in the center of Moscow, operational services told TASS.
“The day before, the famous Russian art critic Oleg Krivtsun was found dead in his apartment on Kudrinskaya Square in the Presnensky district of Moscow. Preliminarily, death occurred as a result of acute heart failure,” the agency quotes the interlocutor as saying. According to him, no traces indicating a violent death were found.
Oleg Krivtsun was born on February 18, 1954. He is the author of more than 200 published works, including nine monographs on the history of art. The academician’s main research topic was the language of art and its evolution. In 2004, Mr. Krivtsun was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Russia.
