Armenian investment fund bought the Moscow Metropolis shopping center from the Americans

The new owner of the shopping and entertainment center “Metropolis” on the Leningrad highway in Moscow, became the Armenian investment fund Balchug Capital, follows from the press release of the fund. Since 2013, the shopping center has been owned by a fund managed by the American company Morgan Stanley; later, half was bought by the fund of the American developer Hines. The press service of Balchug Capital does not name the amount of the deal.
The deal was approved by the government commission for monitoring foreign investment in the Russian Federation, according to a press release. The deal was advised by IBC Real Estate.
Balchug Capital (formerly Copperstone Capital) was founded in 2010 by David Amaryan, who had previously worked for Ruben Vardanyan’s Troika Dialog. At the beginning of March, the fund bought from the Finnish EKE Finance Oy and Vicus Oy BC “Pulkovo Sky” in St. Petersburg.
The Metropolis shopping center was opened in 2009, the building area is 130,000 sq. m. In December 2022, FAS satisfied the application of the company from Kazakhstan “M Holding” for the purchase of a shopping center.
