The Ariant group of companies appealed to the Supreme Court with a complaint about violations when considering the claim of the Prosecutor General’s Office for the seizure of the assets of the Civil Code in favor of the state. The group asks to check the legality of the actions of judges of the Arbitration Court of the Chelyabinsk Region Elena Sysailova and Inna Kuznetsova and, if illegal actions are discovered, to hold them accountable.

The document was sent to the acting chairman of the Supreme Court, Petr Serkov, reports RBC. A publication source close to the defendants confirmed its authenticity. The authors of the appeal believe that the judges “grossly violated the fundamental principles of the judiciary – independence, legality, equality of all before the law and the court, equality of parties and competition.” In their opinion, the judges demonstrated “personal interest in considering the dispute” and preference for one of the parties—the Prosecutor General’s Office. More than 20 petitions from the defendants were rejected, while the petitions from the Prosecutor General’s Office were satisfied. “It appears that the judges were under significant pressure,” the complaint states.

The authors of the complaint noted that interim measures on the claim were taken on the day it was received by the court. The review allegedly took place without notifying individuals that they were being named as defendants. The defendants were refused to postpone the hearing to familiarize themselves with 25 volumes of the case. They were given three days to do this. The authors also note that the consideration of the case for 105 billion rubles. passed in a record time for the Chelyabinsk court – seven days. Ariant Group of Companies also made a number of other claims.

On April 5, the Arbitration Court of the Chelyabinsk Region satisfied the claim of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation for the recovery of 105 billion rubles. from the families of the former owners of the Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Plant industrial group, Yuri Antipov and Alexander Aristov. According to the supervisory agency, the defendants developed a scheme for illegal enrichment and exercised corporate control over the factories. At the request of the plaintiff, the assets of Ariant Group of Companies LLC are subject to seizure for the specified amount.
