The Russian manufacturer of computer equipment Aquarius has acquired 67.8% of the company Aerodisk, which develops data storage systems and virtualization systems, the company’s press service reported.
“Sharing resources and competencies will allow us to effectively meet the growing demand for innovative solutions and strengthen our position in the industry,” said Vladimir Stepanov, President of Aquarius Group, commenting on the deal.
Aerodisk General Director Vyacheslav Volodkovich, in turn, noted that the company will retain its brand and continue to work with customers and partners as usual. The deal, he stressed, will help “bridge the gap” between market demand and the production capacity available to Aerodisk.
The press service of Aquarius also said that the partnership will allow using new approaches in building hierarchical systems for processing and storing information. “This is a huge step forward for the Russian storage market, a solution that is beneficial both on a market scale and in the interests of Russia’s technological development,” the company added.
Stepanov reported that Aquarius could hold an IPO in the next three years if “the situation develops in the way we need.” According to him, the company intends to use the borrowed funds, among other things, to increase production capacity and technological development.
