In the days when the world celebrates Catholic Christmas, the oldest British actor Anthony Hopkins posted a short and funny video on social networks where he dances in a Santa Claus hat. It got a lot of views.
The two-time Oscar winner, winner of the Golden Globe and Emmy awards, who received five BAFTA awards for his work in cinema, is 84 years old. Despite such a serious age, he continues to act. Many know him exclusively for his role as the cannibal Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs, but the range of this greatest actor of our time is unusually large.
His recent work in the film “Father” by Florian Zeller confirmed this once again. Hopkins played an old man suffering from dementia and received an Oscar and an award from the European Film Academy. After the first joint work, the second one followed. Zeller wrote a role specifically for Hopkins, which was not in his play “Son”, on which the next film was staged. Hopkins played a small but unforgettable role as a father and grandfather, in the past a hunter who was forever wandering and did not at all raise his son. The actor will appear for a few minutes to give his adult son advice: you need to let go of the situation, and let everyone go through the forest. In the Christmas video, Hopkins definitely let her go. He dances alone in an empty room in casual clothes. And only the red cap reminds of what time everything happens. Hopkins is incredibly plastic and feels the music well, especially since sometimes he writes it himself.
