Annual inflation in Russia is at 3%, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said. He claims that the government and the Central Bank (CB) always have “a plan of action in case of difficult situations, and this plan has worked.”
“We made the necessary decisions that allowed us to neutralize most of the imposed sanctions. The economy sank, but not by 20%, but by 2.1%. We coped with inflation, which in February-March (2022.— “b”) jumped to high levels, now inflation is 3%,” the minister said at the Knowledge marathon (TASS quote).
Head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina assuredthat the regulator does not seek to drive inflation to the target of 4% “at any cost”. According to the results of 2023, the Central Bank expects indicator at the level of 5–7%, and in 2024 inflation should return to 4%.
