Ang Lee invited his son Mason Lee to play the role of Bruce Lee in a new biopic.
The Oscar-winning director of Life of Pi and Brokeback Mountain has taken on a project in which four writers have already submitted different versions of the script.
“Bruce Lee, who is neither fully American nor fully Chinese, was a bridge between East and West who introduced Chinese kung fu to the world, a martial arts scholar and cult artist who revolutionized both the martial arts and action movies,” Ang Lee pointed out.
The director has reportedly been secretly working on a film called Bruce Lee for some time. His 32-year-old son has also been training in Asia for the past three years to prepare for the role. He has roles in the films The Hangover Part 2, Limbo and Dead Pigs. He also appeared in his father’s 2016 drama Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.
