She can be, in the words of Chekhov, “gray, philistine.” As conceived by the authors, this exhibition is an opportunity to see through the camera lens the unique moments of the Chekhov trilogy staged by Konchalovsky at the Theater. Moscow City Council – “Uncle Vanya”, “Three Sisters”, “The Cherry Orchard”. He also conceived the Shakespearean trilogy. “The Taming of the Shrew” was its beginning.
In addition to live performances, a video version of The Seagull from 2004 will also be shown these days, and Evgeny Steblov, who played with Konchalovsky Dorn, will present it. The Taming of the Shrew premiered in April. Spectators marvel at the unrecognizable red-haired Yulia Vysotskaya as Katarina. In 2013, Konchalovsky already staged this play in Naples, and then brought it to Moscow. The Italian version has little in common with what we have now seen.
