An exhibition of the Moscow Union of Artists opened in Luhansk: Luhansk People’s Republic is being saved by beauty

Recently, the exhibition “Beauty will save the world” opened in the capital of the Luhansk People’s Republic. The project, titled after a well-known quote from Dostoevsky, was presented by the Association of Decorative Arts Artists of the Moscow Union of Artists.
In the Art Gallery of the main creative university of Donbass – the Academy. Matusovsky – Luhansk residents can see ceramics, glass, costume designs, lacquer miniatures, jewelry and wood paintings by the capital’s masters, the organizers report. Among the participants are Nina and Olga Manizer, Marina Abdulina, Alexander Gorazdin, Valentin Bankovsky and others – more than ten authors in total.
It is known that the guests of the opening ceremony of the exhibition were acting. Head of the LPR Leonid Pasechnik, Deputy Chairman of the RVIO Nikolai Ovsienko, Head of the Republican Ministry of Culture Dmitry Sidorov and the guests from Moscow. Academy Rector Valeriy Filippov clarified that the Beauty Will Save the World project is timed to coincide with a landmark event — the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Lugansk (Voroshilovgrad) from Nazi invaders.
“In any trials, beauty helps a person to remain a person. Spirituality and culture are the core without which the preservation of the people and our victory are impossible!” – said the rector, confident that cooperation with the Moscow Union of Artists opens up great prospects for the students of the educational institution.
No less promising were the words of the Association of Artists of Decorative Arts of the Moscow Union of Artists Alexander Gorazdin: “Many people wanted to get to you, this is just the beginning.”
Also, the capital’s painters donated the icon of the Mother of God “Eastley of the Warring” to the temple in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “Tenderness” in Lugansk.
