An analogue of the American chess platform Chess.com, myChess, has been launched in Russia, TASS reports. Currently, the platform’s website states that there are 633 registered users. Access to Chess.com was restricted by Roskomnadzor in April 2022.

The myChess press service told TASS that the platform began operating in test mode in March 2024. During its operation, it hosted children’s and student tournaments, as well as team matches of the corporate league. In the future, users will be able to play with AI avatars and learn the game with trainers individually and in groups.

“The mission of myChess is to make chess the most popular sport possible, to contribute to the intellectual capital of Russia and to support gifted players,” said myChess founder Zoya Arnatskaya.

The platform is also planned to be developed in the BRICS countries. The myChess application is available for download in Rustore. It is expected that it will soon be available on Google Play and AppStore.

On April 24, 2022, Roskomnadzor blocked the Chess.com website. Russian chess player Sergei Karyakin spoke out in support of blocking the site. He stated that the site pursues an “aggressive policy” towards users from Russia. According to him, the site “forcibly replaced the Russian flag” for users from Russia with a link with an “offensive propaganda article.”
