One of Hollywood’s most prolific actors, Nicolas Cage, is considering retiring from his career. The artist, who will soon reach 60 years of age, told the magazine Vanity Fairthat he was almost finished acting in films.

“I probably only have three or four films left,” Cage said in an interview with reporters.

“I feel like I said everything I had to say in the movie. I think I did everything possible… I want to end my career on a high note,” the famous actor commented on his decision.

Cage added that his father died at the age of 75, and he estimates he only has 15 years left. “How do I want to spend these 15 years using my father as a model?” – asked the father of three children. “It became clear to me that I wanted to spend time with my family… I’m starting to solidify that plan.”

However, Cage said he was open to trying other forms of acting, such as television series, which he had not done before.

Cage appeared in more than 100 feature films after his iconic role in Valley Girl in 1983, and then won an Oscar for Best Actor in Leaving Las Vegas in 1996. In 2023 alone, he won six awards (including the film “The Pension Plan”). His latest comedy, “Dream Script,” brought the actor some of the most flattering reviews of his career.

Cage’s promise of “three or four more movies left” likely doesn’t include the four upcoming films listed on IMDB that are in various stages of production. Last month, Cage said he plans to slow down his filmmaking once he reaches 60.
