Today, February 2, Amazon Corporation presented reporting for the fourth quarter and 2023 as a whole. In the fourth quarter, the company’s revenue increased by almost 14%, to $170 billion. Amazon’s quarterly profit increased 38 times, reaching $10.6 billion. The company ended the year as a whole with a profit of $30.4 billion versus a loss of $2.7 billion a year earlier. Full-year revenue rose 12% to $574.8 billion. Amazon also forecast revenue will grow 13% in the current quarter.
Amazon’s strong fourth-quarter results reflect strong demand during the current holiday season. In 2022, such demand decreased after a sharp increase during the pandemic. Amazon shares rose 11% in over-the-counter trading.
