Alpina launches a new publishing house Belle Letre – Kommersant

The Alpina group is launching the Belle Letre publishing house, focused on modern foreign prose for women, the company told Kommersant. Investments in the project will amount to more than 50 million rubles, said Alpina CEO Alexey Ilyin.
“These books raise various, sometimes quite complex and not fully reflected by society, topics, such as the role of women in the modern world, mental health, family relationships,” added the editor-in-chief of the publishing house, Yana Gretsova.
The publisher’s first six books, including The Seamstress from Sardinia by Bianca Pitzorno, The Observer by Francesca Rees and Paloma by Ann-Gaelle Huon, will appear in bookstores and online stores at the end of October. Now “Belle Letre” is preparing for the release of more than 20 new books by European and North American authors, which will be translated into Russian for the first time, a representative of “Alpina” said: “The average circulation will be 5 thousand copies.”
