Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev recalled that as a result of the conflict in Ukraine, many countries are physically unable to provide their population with wheat and grain. However, there are no problems in this area in Azerbaijan, Mr. Aliyev said in an interview with Azerbaijani television.
“Traditionally, we buy grain and fertilizers in Russia. Thanks to the agreements reached with our Russian partners, both grain and fertilizers are exported and will be exported to Azerbaijan in the desired quantity,” the President of Azerbaijan said (quoted from apa). He also expressed confidence that Azerbaijan will be able to increase productivity to a large extent in the coming years.
Russian wheat occupies a high share in deliveries to its traditional directions, such as Iran, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Egypt (from 42% to 80%). This agricultural year, according to the Union of Grain Exporters, the potential for wheat exports from Russia is estimated at 40.3 million tons.
