AliExpress blocked the sale of DJI drones to Russia

The AliExpress marketplace has banned the sale of products from the world’s largest consumer drone manufacturer, China’s Da-Jiang Innovations (DJI), to Russian users. The DJI Fly drone control application has been removed from the Russian AppStore, Kommersant was convinced.

When trying to go to page drone – for example, DJI Mini Drone Quadrocopter or DJI Mini 3 Pro – the AliExpress website writes that there is no such page. Products for drones, such as bags to store them, are also not available. At the same time, other products of the brand (stabilizers are also presented on the page) can be bought.

DJI Support reported Telegram channel Mashthat the company does not sell its products to Russia and does not provide services to Russian users. “We also do not provide services for any military activities and weapons,” the support service added.

Russian software developers for drones, the Aeroscript Research Center, told Kommersant that they had developed an alternative for the DJI Fly application – the Nebosvod platform, which is available in the AppStore. The press service of the company stated that with the help of “Nebosvod” it is possible to control DJI drones as well. According to the Russian company, 80% of the entire amateur drone fleet in Russia is represented by DJI.

DJI was founded in 2006 and is headquartered in Shenzhen, China. The company produces multicopters, microcontrollers and video equipment. In April the company suspended activities in Russia, explaining such a decision by “re-evaluating the requirements” of compliance with the market.
