“Theater lessons” for children of the DNR, LNR and Mariupol
“What can our Union do for the children of Donbass?” – Asked a question in the Union of theatrical figures. The answer came by itself – it is necessary to make the children smile, laugh joyfully, play their children’s games, themselves portray the heroes of good fairy tales with a happy ending. This is no less important than food and a warm home. On August 20, about 40 children with accompanying children from Rostov-on-Don, where they were as refugees, as well as actresses with children from the Donetsk Youth Theater, will arrive at the House of Creativity of the STD of Russia “Actor” in Miskhor.
After the horrors of the shelling of the peaceful cities of Donbass, after the underground existence of children who have matured dramatically, bright sun and warm sea await, delicious food and beautiful views from every balcony, a lot of various entertainments, and also lessons that artists from Sevastopol theaters will give them. Probably, there have never been such fun and exciting lessons in their lives. And most importantly, they themselves will play performances, albeit small, but everyone will get a role.
“For eight years we have watched with bitterness everything that happened in the Donbass, tried to support our colleagues,” says Alexander Kalyagin, chairman of the Union of Theater Workers, “Today it has become especially hard for our relatives, we are trying to somehow help them. Artists from different theaters go to hospitals, play for residents of cities and towns. And we decided that rest in Miskhor would be the best gift for children. And also, if we come up with fun and joyful games for them, the children will be happy. And everything worked out.”
The first group of guests from Donbass will stay in Miskhor until September 3, followed by children from Mariupol. “Theatre lessons” will be continued, they will be held by artists of theaters of the Crimea.
