“Dear passengers, with regret we are forced to stop operating flights from April 21 to April 25, 2023 due to the lack of financial resources necessary for the company’s activities. Unfortunately, we note that all the efforts and actions taken by the Air Moldova team to manage the situation in which the company found itself have not yet yielded results,” the press service of Air Moldova said.
Last autumn, the Civil Aviation Authority of Moldova reported about “financial shortcomings” identified during the audit of Air Moldova, which may prevent the airline from fulfilling its obligations on tickets sold. It was clarified that the check was initiated after the company canceled flights more than once due to technical malfunctions of the aircraft.
March 2 of the current year Air Moldova informed about the cancellation of a number of scheduled flights. In particular, flights to Prague, London, Paris, Istanbul and Tbilisi were cancelled. The press service of the airline then said that the reason for the cancellation were operational difficulties.
