Agroexport estimated the potential for vodka exports from Russia at $180 million per year

Exports of vodka from Russia could potentially reach $180 million per year. The most promising destinations are neighboring countries, the UAE, Turkey, China, India and Vietnam. In 2022, vodka exports from the Russian Federation amounted to $98 million (eighth place in the world), follows from the analytical (.pdf) review of the Federal Center “Agroexport”.
Agroexport’s assessment is based on data on the recovery of global demand for vodka and the trend of its further growth, the review says. It reports that vodka exports from Russia for the period from 2017 to 2022 increased annually by 1.6% in volume terms and by 5.5% in value terms. In 2020, a sharp decline in vodka exports was recorded in the Russian Federation – by 4.9%, to 79.5 dal. Russia, according to the review, is the world leader in terms of vodka consumption (26.3% share of global consumption in 2022), with the United States in second place (24.2%).

Earlier, the Union of Alcohol Producers (SPAP; includes Novabev Group, Siberian Alcohol Group, Rust Group, Ladoga and others) in September proposed to Finance Minister Anton Siluanov to increase the minimum prices for vodka in Russian retail by 7% from 2024.
