Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that the agreement on connecting the Russian Agricultural Bank to the international SWIFT system as part of the implementation of the grain deal has not yet been fulfilled.

“For the time being, we state that this part of the agreements is still not fulfilled. There is still some time before the deadline, but there are not so many hopes,” Mr. Peskov said during a conference call, specifying that the Russian Federation still expects partners to fulfill their requirements under the grain deal.

On the eve of the British newspaper Financial Times, citing sources wrotethat Moscow offered to allow the sanctioned Russian Agricultural Bank to create a “daughter” that can be connected to SWIFT to pay for grain exports. Dmitry Peskov informedthat the Kremlin does not currently have any comments on this topic.

June 2, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev in his article for Rossiyskaya Gazeta informedthat the grain deal concluded with the UN, Turkey and Ukraine, in his opinion, must be terminated, since Russia is able to help partner countries with the food they need without it. According to Mr. Medvedev, the Russian Federation receives absolutely no benefit from the deal and should stop participating in the agreement.
