It is clarified that the bulk of the transactions for the sale of currency fell on the first half of July. The Russians actively sold foreign currency both on the stock exchange and through the largest banks of the Russian Federation (for the amount of 16.4 billion rubles and 28 billion rubles, respectively). The largest sellers of currency in July were systemically important banks, they sold it for 528 billion rubles. against 377 billion rubles. in the previous month.

According to the Central Bank, over the past month, the Russian currency lost 2.3% against the US dollar. The weakening of the ruble in the Bank of Russia is called “insignificant” compared to the fall of 10.4% in June. The reason for the weakening of the Russian currency exchange rate of the Central Bank is called the decrease in the trade balance.

At the same time, Russian business in July reduced sales of foreign currency by 1.6% compared to June – from $7 billion to $6.9 billion.
