When you try to top up your wallet, the following message appears: “Payment error. Payment declined. Contact the bank that issued the card.” Withdrawal payments are also not available.
Today, February 21, Central Bank recalled license from Qiwi Bank for conducting shadow transactions. The regulator sent data on bank transactions with signs of criminal offenses to law enforcement agencies. After this, Qiwi American depositary receipts at the beginning of trading on the Moscow Exchange fell by 24.9%, to 360.5 rubles.
In 2019, users of electronic Qiwi wallets, as well as Yandex Money, WebMoney, PayPal and VK Pay were required to undergo personal identification to conduct transactions. Because of this, Qiwi lost 4% of active Russian Qiwi wallets over the year.
