Aeroflot Group will work on amending the Federal Aviation Rules (FAR) regarding the carriage of hand luggage and baggage, Aeroflot CEO Sergei Aleksandrovsky told reporters. According to him, the group has a common vision with Rostransnadzor on resolving the issue with the rules for carrying hand luggage.
“The essence of the necessary changes is to designate in the FAP uniform and understandable for everyone measurable parameters of hand luggage, which could be used by air carriers of various business models, including low-cost airlines,” Viktor Basargin, head of Rostransnadzor, explained to Vedomosti. According to him, we are talking about fixing the minimum parameters, for example, of a backpack or a handbag, so that the dimensions of hand luggage do not raise questions for anyone later.
