Aeroflot and the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec) have approved part of the parameters of the Tu-214 aircraft cabins, reports RBC with reference to correspondence between the parties. The airliners will be designed for 170–175 passengers, five Tu-214 are planned to be delivered to the airline in December 2024-January 2025.

According to working documents, the first 11 aircraft for Aeroflot will be operated with maximum passenger capacity: 12 seats in business class, 163 in economy class. If you fly over water to the shore for more than 30 minutes, then five seats will need to be dismantled and life rafts installed in their place – in this case, the number of seats will be reduced to 170.

According to RBC, the seat pitch (distance to the next seat) in business class will be 96 cm, in economy – 78 cm. They intend to equip the seats with sockets, USB connectors and dining tables, and in business class – with cocktail tables. The monitors will be mounted in the seats of aircraft planned for delivery only from 2026. It is also planned to provide Internet access to the salon not from the first deliveries; the exact timing is unknown. There will be four toilets in the Tu-214 cabin: one each in the front and rear, two in the center of the cabin.

“Negotiations on the configuration of the Tu-214 cabin are ongoing, we are waiting for official confirmation of our proposals from the aircraft manufacturer,” the Aeroflot press service told RBC.

As Kommersant found out earlier, Rostec managed to complete and deliver in 2023 a maximum of one Tu-214 aircraft out of three planned. It was assumed that the plane would go to a special customer: according to one source, this is SLO Rossiya, another – the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Rostec intends to begin testing a version of the aircraft with a cabin for two crew members in 2026, which Aeroflot insisted on.

Details – in the material “Kommersant” “Tu-214 went to the right”.
