Aeroflot passenger traffic increased by 14.6% in the third quarter – Kommersant

Passenger flow of Aeroflot group (MOEX: AFLT) in the third quarter of 2023 increased by 14.6% compared to the same period in 2022 and amounted to 35.82 million people. 28.95 million passengers were carried on domestic lines, which is 5.6% more than in the third quarter of last year, and on international routes – 6.87 million people (+78.9%).
In September 2023, the group’s passenger traffic increased by 4.7% to 4.59 million people. 3.67 million passengers were transported on domestic lines, which is 5.7% less than in September last year, on international lines – 920.1 thousand passengers (+86.5%).
In September, the Aeroflot group operated 30,349 flights, which is 1% less than the result of the same month in 2022. On domestic routes, the number of flights amounted to 24,921 (-8.3%), on international routes – 5,428 (+55.8%). During the third quarter, the number of flights performed by the group reached 238,932 and exceeded the result of the same period in 2022 by 8.7%. 195,731 flights (+2.6%) were carried out on domestic routes, 43,201 (+47.9%) on international routes.
Aeroflot is the largest Russian aviation group, uniting the flagship airline of the same name, the low-cost carrier Pobeda and Rossiya Airlines. The largest holder shareholding of PJSC Aeroflot is the state, which owns 73.77% of the total number of ordinary shares of the company. Freely traded on the Moscow Exchange (MOEX: MOEX) is 25.03%, 1.2% are quasi-treasury shares, 0.0001% are owned by the company’s management.
