Aeroflot increased traffic in June by 15.7%

The group carried 3.6 million passengers on domestic flights (+4% compared to June 2022), and 794,300 on international flights (an increase of 2.3 times). The press service noted that the volume of traffic is growing from month to month: in June it increased by 16.4% against May and by 28.4% against April. Passenger turnover increased by 22.4% compared to June 2022, the press service of Aeroflot specified.
In the first six months of 2023, the air carrier increased its traffic to 20.9 million passengers (+21.8% compared to the same period in 2022). Significant growth was shown by flights on international routes – by 68.2%, to 4.1 million passengers. Passenger traffic on domestic flights increased by 14.1% over six months, to 16.8 million people.
The forecast for the passenger traffic of Russian airlines for the whole of 2023 is 101 million passengers, Minister of Transport Vitaly Savelyev said at the end of March. Of these, 81.9 million are domestic passenger traffic, i.e. the figure is expected to increase by 5.4% compared to 2022, but will decrease by 6.4% compared to 2021.
The fact that the number of passengers carried in 2023 will depend directly on how much subsidies airlines receive, previously spoke experts interviewed by Vedomosti. In 2022, Russian airlines transported a total of 95 million people (-14% by 2021).
