Aeroflot has agreed on an insurance settlement for 17 aircraft – Kommersant

Aeroflot airline reported that it has completed the settlement of relations with the Irish lessor SMBC Aviation Capital for 16 aircraft and another aircraft managed by SMBC Aviation Capital.
“In accordance with the agreements reached, the lessors ceased their claims against the Russian parties both under insurance policies issued by Russian insurance companies and under leasing agreements with PJSC Aeroflot. Ownership of the aircraft passed to the insurance company Insurance Company NSK LLC, which paid the settlement amount,” Aeroflot said in a statement (available to Kommersant).
The company reported that it intends to continue to negotiate with foreign companies on the issue of operating other aircraft.
Previously reportedthat Aeroflot has also settled relations with the Irish lessor AerCap regarding the operation of 18 aircraft and five aircraft engines.
By data “Kommersant”, in addition to Aeroflot, the allocation of funds from the National Welfare Fund for the purchase of aircraft from Western lessors was previously agreed with the Ministry of Transport by also Ural Airlines and iFly. In the case of Ural Airlines, we are talking about 19 aircraft of different owners; with iFly, we are talking about three Airbus A330 from the American Air Lease Corporation.
