Earlier, a number of Russian media, citing sources reportedthat the Federal Air Transport Agency recommended that Russian air carriers not fly abroad on State Transport Leasing Company aircraft, which is under sanctions from the European Union and the United States, due to the risk of their arrest. It is noted that the recommendation of the Federal Air Transport Agency applies only to aircraft of foreign subsidiaries of State Transport Leasing Company, which are undergoing bankruptcy proceedings. RBC sources reported that fifty Airbus and Boeing airlines Aeroflot, Rossiya, S7, ATK Yamal and Aurora are at risk of arrest.

In State Transport Leasing Company statedthat they warned airlines about the possible risks of using the fleet outside the Russian legal framework. “STLC expects to conclude new contracts with the Russian legal entity, JSC STLC, as soon as possible to ensure the safe operation of aircraft on all available routes,” the company reported.

Last February, foreign companies started to recall planes from Russia. The Federal Air Transport Agency then recommended that carriers with leased aircraft in their fleet not fly abroad. In March, Russian authorities accepted a law allowing such airliners to obtain a second registration.

On September 27, Kommersant learned that Ural Airlines and iFly have still not been able to pay Western lessors for the aircraft. We are talking about less than 50 billion rubles. for an insurance settlement on 22 aircraft.
