Aeroflot Group increased traffic in July by 5%

The total volume of transportation of the group “Aeroflot» increased by 5% year-on-year in July, reported company press office.

The decrease in domestic flights was offset by an increase in international flights – 904,300 passengers were transported, which is 2.1 times more than a year earlier.

“Thus, passenger traffic is growing from month to month – in June and May 2023, 4.3 and 3.7 million passengers were transported, respectively,” Aeroflot stressed.

The group’s passenger turnover increased by 11.1% yoy, while the marginal passenger turnover increased by 12.5%. In the first seven months of the year, the group’s passenger traffic increased by 18.1% compared to the same period last year, amounting to just over 26 million people. Passenger transportation on domestic routes during this period increased by 9.6%, and on international lines – by 74.9%.

The parent airline Aeroflot carried 2.7 million passengers in July, which is comparable to July 2022 (2.743 million passengers compared to 2.745 a year earlier). Passenger traffic on domestic lines amounted to 2.05 million passengers, on international lines – 690,100 people. The passenger turnover of the airline increased by 9.6%. The group also includes carriers Rossiya and low-cost carrier Pobeda.

The forecast for the passenger traffic of Russian airlines for the whole of 2023 is 101 million passengers, Minister of Transport Vitaly Savelyev said at the end of March. Of these, 81.9 million are domestic passenger traffic, i.e. the figure is expected to increase by 5.4% compared to 2022, but will decrease by 6.4% compared to 2021.
