Aeroflot Airlines has settled relations with the Irish lessor AerCap regarding the operation of 18 aircraft and 5 aircraft engines. This was reported by the press service of Aeroflot. The ownership of the aircraft and engines was transferred to the insurance company NSK Insurance Company LLC, which paid the settlement amount.
“In accordance with the agreement reached, AerCap has terminated its claims against the Russian parties both under insurance policies issued by Russian insurance companies and under leasing agreements with Aeroflot PJSC and Rossiya Airlines JSC. Aeroflot Group continues negotiations on the settlement of existing claims with other lessors of foreign-made aircraft,” the press service said.
According to Kommersant, in addition to Aeroflot, the allocation of funds from the National Welfare Fund for the purchase of aircraft from Western lessors was also preliminary agreed with the Ministry of Transport by Ural Airlines and iFly. In the case of Ural Airlines, we are talking about 19 aircraft of various owners, with iFly – about three Airbus A330s from the American Air Lease Corporation.
