Aeroflot Airlines (MOEX: AFLT) and its low-cost carrier Pobeda can hire flight attendants from the Moscow office of S7 Airlines who have been laid off. As Kommersant reported the day before, S7 will reduce the number of flight crews in Moscow, as well as employees of the Moscow office.

“Aeroflot has opened a recruitment process for current flight attendants from various airlines; about 80 people have already been hired. At the same time, the company is ready to consider all flight attendants of the Moscow office of S7 Airlines on a competitive basis. Our low-cost carrier Pobeda is also ready to open a recruitment of existing flight attendants,” says the Aerofolot report, as cited by RIA Novosti.

January 15 “Kommersant” with reference to sources reported on the reduction in S7 of the number of flight crews in Moscow and flight attendants in the Moscow office. According to Kommersant’s sources, the decision was made due to a decrease in the number of flights from Moscow due to the downtime of some Airbus A320 / A321neo aircraft due to problems with engines.

Later, S7 announced that it would offer some of its Moscow employees to continue working in the Novosibirsk or Irkutsk branches, in which the company is increasing its presence. The pilots were offered to undergo retraining for another type of aircraft, in particular, for the Embraer 170. It was reported that pilots and flight attendants, on the recommendation of S7 Airlines, could go to work for other airlines, including international ones.
