Aeroflot allowed to transport animals on the next seat in test mode

Aeroflot, in test mode, allowed its passengers to transport animals in a container on the next seat. The price corresponds to the cost of a ticket for an adult passenger. The test will last until March 20, 2024, after which a decision will be made to extend the provision of the service on an ongoing basis.
One person can transfer one container with an animal or bird in any class of service, it says message airlines. According to safety rules, the container can only be placed on seats near the window, with the exception of business class on Airbus A350 aircraft – where transportation is allowed only in the middle block of seats on odd-numbered rows.
Aeroflot expects that the service will be in demand among owners of small animals and birds. The weight of the container should not exceed 15 kg. The maximum dimensions of a rigid container are 50x30x30 cm, semi-rigid – 50x32x30 cm. Animals or birds must be able to stand up to their full height and turn around themselves. The container must have a special handle or loop so that it can be tightly secured with a seat belt.
