Actress Oksana Fandera, the wife of director Philip Yankovsky, spoke about the reasons for stopping her work in cinema lately. Her last film work at the moment was released back in 2018, and judging by the comments of the artist, no new films are expected yet.
In an interview with KP.RU, a native of Odessa statedthat the reason for the creative break was personal motives. According to her, it’s all about her own demands on herself and potential roles.
“I’m interested in living heroines with a story, with internal development,” the actress explained. “For such roles, a beacon works for me and I understand that this is mine.”
The actress also said that she never asked for her husband’s projects, although she played in several films by Yankovsky – “On the Move”, “Stone Head”, “State Councillor”.
“I clearly understand: if the director does not offer, then he simply does not see me there,” Fandera explained. “Philip, with great reluctance, it felt like he took me into his paintings.”
At the same time, she noted that those projects in which her husband nevertheless gave her a role brought great pleasure from work: “He always knows exactly what result he needs <...> he is a wonderful artist and a subtle, very delicate partner.”
