Leading actor of the Moscow Hermitage Theater Alexei Shulin died at the age of 56 after a long illness. This was announced by the artistic director of the theater Mikhail Levitin TASS.

“He passed away late last night, he died after a serious illness, which he fought very courageously for several years,” said Mikhail Levitin.

Farewell to the actor will take place on August 23. The location is not specified.

Alexey Shulin was born on December 13, 1967. In 1991 he graduated from the Gorky Theater School. In 2006 he received the honorary title of Honored Artist of Russia. The actor has served in the Hermitage Theater since 2007. Among his roles are Carlo Goldoni in the production of Carlo the Honest Adventurer, the Earl of Kent in King’s Lear, Henry St. John in A Glass of Water.
