Actor Nikolai Burlyaev once again called for the unity of the Slavic world at the art festival in Vitebsk. Nikolai Petrovich is worried about the events taking place in the world and does not hesitate to express his position. Because of this, Burlyaev was included in the sanctions lists in the United States, the European Union, Canada and other countries.
“These are the sanctions of Satan,” Burlyaev crosses himself. – My life has not changed since the imposition of sanctions. It is their lives that have changed.
As you know, I have Ukrainian roots – my ancestors are from Ukraine. So I don’t care what happens there.
They canceled my films. For example, “Ivan’s Childhood”, where Ukrainian actors played, wonderful Dmitry Milyutenko, Nikolai Grinko. They cut the film “Andrey Rublev”, where, again, Ukrainian actors played. Ukraine itself suffered from this in the first place, depriving its people of such wonderful pictures.”
“This is such nonsense! – continues the artist. – Gogol, when he was asked the question: “You are a Little Russian. Why don’t you write in Ukrainian?” – answered like this: “I cannot write in a dialect when there is the language of the great Pushkin.”
By the way, we in Russia do not refuse Ukraine and Ukrainian songs.”
