Actor Gary Busey accused of sexual misconduct

Actor Gary Busey is charged with sexual misconduct at a fan convention in New Jersey this month. According to police, the charges are related to wrongdoing at the annual Monster Mania Con at the Doubletree Hotel August 12-14 in Cherry Hill. Mr. Busey, who lives in Malibu, California, was an invited guest for all three days of the event, according to the Associated Press.
Gary Busey, 78, was charged on August 19 with two counts of criminal sexual contact in the fourth degree, one count of attempted criminal sexual contact and one count of solicitation, Cherry Hill Police said.
The police did not provide details. It is also unclear whether Mr Busey has a lawyer available to comment on the allegations. The actor’s representative did not provide a comment.
Gary Busey is widely known as a character actor, mostly in supporting roles. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor in the 1978 film The Buddy Holly Story. He was remembered by the Russian audience for the films Lethal Weapon (1987) and Under Siege (1992).
