In the second quarter of 2022, the share of non-cash payments in Russia amounted to more than 60%, said Alexei Barov, CEO of OFD Platform, a fiscal data operator. He added that he expects this indicator to grow by the end of the year.

“If you look at the results of the second quarter, the share of non-cash “in money” in the retail spending of Russians was above 60%, while last year it was 58%, although back in 2020 it was 54%. This is a growing trend. If there are no extreme situations, by the end of the year the share of non-cash payments may add another couple of percent and then will approach 70%,” said Alexei Barov in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Mr. Barov added that by September the share of electronic checks had grown to 9-9.5% against 4-5% in January. According to him, this happened against the backdrop of an increase in online commerce and delivery, as well as problems with checks due to sanctions against Russia.

Earlier, Kommersant reported that Tinkoff Bank intends to propose to the Central Bank to raise the limit of free transfers via SBP to 300 thousand rubles. per month (now – 100 thousand rubles per month). A similar idea was discussed at the Central Bank, however, according to them, the existing limit is sufficient for now.
