Abramovich invested in marijuana producer Curaleaf

Businessman Roman Abramovich invested in the largest American marijuana producer Curaleaf from 2015 to 2017. This was announced by Curaleaf Chairman of the Board Boris Jordan, his words are quoted by Bloomberg. According to Forensic News, the investment amounted to €225 million.

“He lent me and Andrey[Andrey Bloch, a major current shareholder of Curaleaf]money to invest. All these funds were repaid long ago, even before the hostilities, at the end of 2020 or the end of 2021. As far as we know, Curaleaf does not currently have Roman Abramovich as a shareholder,” said Boris Yordan. According to him, the businessman invested in Curaleaf from 2015 to 2017, when the company operated under the name PalliaTech Inc.

According to the project Forensic Newsin addition to PalliaTech Inc, the businessman also invested in Boris Jordan’s venture company Measure 8. The total investment, according to the project, amounted to €225 million.

Curaleaf produces cannabis for medical purposes. Curaleaf went public in Canada in 2018. It turned out that among its main co-owners was the ex-lava of Sibneft Andrei Bloch, a longtime partner of Roman Abramovich. As a result of the placement, 520 million Canadian dollars (or $400 million) were raised. After that Andrey Bloch became multimillionaire.
