The Yakovlev company (part of the UAC) intends to develop a new training aircraft (MOEX: SMLT) for training civil aviation pilots. It will be created on the basis of the Yak-152 training aircraft for the initial training of pilots of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
“The experience gained in creating the Yak-152 will be used in shaping the technical appearance of the new training aircraft for schools and training centers of civil aviation,” the Yakovlev press service reported. “RIA News”. The technical appearance will be developed jointly with the Federal Air Transport Agency and potential operators.
“Yakovlev” sees the priority of providing Russian military educational institutions with Yak-152 aircraft, but does not exclude the export of products.
The Yak-152 is an addition to the combat training complex based on the Yak-130 aircraft. It is used to practice simple, complex and aerobatics skills, as well as aerobatics techniques as part of a group. State tests were completed in January. The next stage in the development of the project will be the abandonment of foreign components.
