A single center for certification of IT specialists may be created in Russia

The Ministry of Digital Development and the job search service HeadHunter are discussing the idea of creating a single center for certification of IT specialists. About it reported Kommersant with reference to a letter from the director of the department for the development of digital competencies and education of the Ministry of Digital Development, Tatyana Trubnikova, dated October 23, sent to a number of specialized IT companies and industry associations.
It is assumed that an independent technological platform, which will contain information on the state of the labor market for IT specialists, can be created on the basis of the hh.ru platform. In addition, on its basis they can create “a system of voluntary confirmation of skills in the IT industry, taking into account different levels of competencies, regardless of the availability of specialized education.”
According to Kommersant, a discussion of this initiative may take place on October 27. However, the decision on choosing the final technological site for certification has not yet been made. “HeadHunter took the initiative, but there is no final decision on the implementation of the project yet,” noted the Ministry of Digital Development, responding to the publication’s request. According to the newspaper, the company “has already created a ready-made competency map, described and verified 46 IT professions and 310 skills in them, and checked salary data,” so it is suitable for this project.
The idea of creating a Russian unified employee certification system has been discussed since September of this year. After the start of the special operation in Ukraine, foreign certification centers (Oracle, Red Hat, VMware, etc.) left the Russian market. The presence of documents confirming skills in working with company products gave a competitive advantage in employment.
