At least three popular Turkish services for creating virtual cards have announced a reduction in functionality for anonymous cards. Now these cards will be available for payment only on Turkish websites, RIA Novosti reports.
The ininal service notified that from September 30, by decision of the Central Bank of Turkey, anonymous cards can only be used for payments on Turkish sites with a “seal of trust.” “If you go through the identification procedure through the application, you will be able to continue using the card to pay on any sites on the Internet,” its application says. Oldubil and Papara services sent similar notifications. At Oldubil, restrictions began to apply today, October 3.
The services made it possible to create a virtual card with a certain limit, which, after registration with a residence permit, increased to 100 thousand liras per month. They were also used by Russians to pay for online services.
In August, the Letim application appeared in the AppStore and Google Play app stores, which allows Russians to open a virtual card of the Turkish payment system Troy, Kommersant learned. With this card you can pay for goods and services and withdraw money from ATMs in Turkey using a QR code.
