The only winner in the competition for investment projects for the construction of wind power plants (WPP) in Russia was Uralenergosbyt LLC, 50% of which is controlled by the Finnish Fortum. The company won wind farm projects with a capacity of 738.55 MW to be launched in 2025–2029, follows from resultspublished on the ATS website.

In “Fortum” they told “Kommersant” that they did not take part in the competition: “We do not control OOO Uralenergosbyt.” According to the Kartoteka service, 50% of Uralenergosbyt is owned by PJSC Fortum (controlled by the Finnish Fortum), the remaining 50% is owned by JSC EK Vostok.

All WPP projects will be located in the first price zone of the energy market (the European part of the Russian Federation and the Urals), in particular in Tatarstan, Samara and Saratov regions. Projects after launch will receive increased payments for their output. The one-part price for the supply of selected wind farms is 4.2–5.7 rubles. for 1 kWh. The planned load rate is 38%, according to Kommersant’s estimates.

Finnish Fortum announced plans to sell its assets in the Russian Federation in May 2022 due to the outbreak of hostilities by the Russian Federation in Ukraine. However, the deal has not happened yet. At the same time, the Danish Vestas, a supplier of equipment for the Fortuma wind farm, left Russia.
