How Brent fluctuated
In March 2022, against the backdrop of the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions after the start of the CVO in Ukraine, the price rose to $130/bbl, but prices gradually decreased and in September stabilized at a level below $100/bbl. Since the beginning of 2023, Brent futures on the ICE exchange have been consistently below $90/bbl, and on March 17 they fell to a year-to-date low of $72.8/bbl. Against the background of news about the reduction in production by OPEC+ countries, the cost of the June futures grew on April 2 to $86.2/bbl, and on April 3 it was $84.53/bbl. (+16.2% to the March low).
