The Moscow Intellectual Rights Court upheld the claim of Yandex (MOEX: YNDX) and terminated due to non-use the legal protection of the trademark “Ya. Taxi”, registered by Moscow LLC “Taxi 8-800”, follows from the information in the files of arbitration courts.
RIA Novosti, citing data from Rospatent, reports that the trademark “Ya. Taxi” was registered in 2016 for a single class of services, including, in particular, transport services and taxi services. Registration was valid until 2025.
In the Unified State Register of Legal Entities as a type of activity “Taxi 8-800” (.pdf) indicates the rental and leasing of cars and light vehicles.
Yandex registered the Yandex Taxi trademark in 2022. It applies to nine classes of services, including the one for which “Ya” is registered. Taxi”.
