The number of new credit cards issued in August 2022 increased by 17.6% compared to July, to 1.35 million. Year on year, it increased by 21.5%. The credit card segment has fully recovered and is showing the highest issuance rates in more than a year and a half, informs NBKI.

According to NBKI Marketing Director Alexei Volkov, the increase in the number of issued credit cards is due to the decrease in the key rate of the Central Bank and the subsequent reduction in market rates. The seasonal increase in spending before the start of the school year, as well as the desire of citizens to acquire an additional credit card of the Mir payment system, probably had an impact.
