Actor Zubenko, who played in the television series “Quiet Don,” has died – Kommersant

Actor Sergei Zubenko, known for his roles in the television series “Quiet Don” and “Bad Weather,” died in Omsk at the age of 62. As noted at the Omsk Theater for Young Spectators, where the artist served, Mr. Zubenko’s death occurred “after a serious and long illness.”

“The Omsk Youth Theater reports with deep regret that on October 2, after a serious and long illness, actor and director, Honored Cultural Worker of the Omsk Region Sergei Zubenko passed away,” it is reported on page theater on the social network VKontakte.

Sergei Zubenko was a graduate of the Irkutsk Theater School. In his acting career, he served in Youth Theaters of Omsk, Chelyabinsk, Krasnoyarsk, Volgograd and Irkutsk. The actor is the holder of the title “Honored Worker of Culture of the Omsk Region.” Sergei Zubenko’s filmography includes four acting works in films and TV series. His greatest fame came from his roles in the television series “Bad Weather” (based on the novel of the same name by writer Alexei Ivanov) and “Quiet Don” (based on the novel by Mikhail Sholokhov). In “Bad Weather,” the artist played the role of the city police chief Ivan Sviyagin, and in “Quiet Flows the Don” he played the role of a centurion.

Farewell to the artist will take place on October 5 at the Omsk House of Actors. The funeral of Sergei Zubenko may also take place on the same day.
