“Today, after almost 25 years here, I have decided to step down from my role as head of YouTube and start a new chapter dedicated to my family, health, and personal projects that I am passionate about,” she said.

She also agreed with Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and parent company Alphabet, to take on an advisory role to the company, she said. Wojcicki took over as CEO of YouTube in 2014. Prior to that, she was Google’s senior vice president of advertising.
Wojcicki will be replaced by YouTube chief product officer Neil Mohan, who will also become the company’s senior vice president. According to Bloomberg, Mohan came on YouTube in 2015, since then “many considered it a natural successor”.
