India’s e-Visa system has experienced a global disruption. Because of this, 79 Russians yesterday, December 6, were unable to fly from Kazan on a charter flight to Goa, informed Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR). The organization said that the Indian authorities are already working to eliminate the failure. ATOR believes that it “may jeopardize Russians’ vacation in Goa.”
Passengers of the ZF 2419 Kazan-Goa flight, who bought Znex Tour vouchers, could not fly away. Yana Muromova, deputy general director of the company, said that the Indian consulate in Moscow got involved in resolving the situation and even had to delay the flight for an hour, but the tourists did not receive electronic visas. A similar incident occurred in Yekaterinburg, but there 73 tourists received visas two hours before departure and managed to fly to Goa.
Specialists of travel companies working with India told ATOR that there has always been a problem with issuing electronic visas in this direction, since “the servers and technologies of the site of the Indian Visa Application Center leave much to be desired.” ATOR added that now flights from five regions of Russia fly to Goa: Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Omsk and Perm.
The demand for long trips – in particular, to Thailand, India, Sri Lanka this year has doubled, exceeding the pre-pandemic level, participants in the tourism market reported to Kommersant. Going on vacation to distant countries in the winter stimulates Russians, including the spread of remote work. In addition, travel to Asia is now more affordable than to Europe.
Details – in the material “Kommersant” “To Thailand, on business, urgently”.
