25 companies that left Russia were accepted by Kazakhstan

25 companies that left the Russian market moved to Kazakhstan, 67 more are planning to do so. This was told by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Almas Aidarov.

He noted that a lot of work is being done in the country to relocate companies that have officially announced their withdrawal from Russia. “To date, 401 companies in which we are interested in moving to Kazakhstan, invitations have been sent to all these companies, our ambassadors are meeting with parent companies. To date, 67 companies have responded positively to us, and work is underway on them. And for 25 companies, the relocation has been completed,” told Aidarov (quote from the local online magazine Vlast).

According to the deputy minister, companies from 38 countries are participating in the relocation. According to him, these are mainly corporations from Germany, Switzerland, Japan and the United States. As an example, he cited such companies as Honeywell, InDriver, Fortescue, as well as Ozon, which is building a logistics park in Astana. We are talking about the opening of regional offices or branches in Kazakhstan, as well as the launch of production.

“Vlast” draws attention to the fact that a number of Russian companies were also indicated on the slide for Aidarov’s speech: “Ural Spring Plant”, “LSTK Plant”, JSC “AvtoVAZ“.

In August 2022, the Prime Minister of the Republic Alikhan Smailov toldthat the authorities are working on the relocation of more than 250 foreign companies. According to him, at that time 45 companies decided to move to the Kazakhstani market, among them – Skoda, GE Healthcare, Philips.

In July 2022, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed government to create favorable conditions in the country for the relocation of foreign companies that have left Russia.
