2023 International Booker Prize Shortlist Announced

Six books have been shortlisted for the 2023 Booker International Prize. Shortlist published on website premiums.

Shortlisted for the International Booker Prize:

  • Guadalupe Nettel with the book Still Born (“Stillborn” – Russian) (Mexico),
  • Gauz’ (real name – Patrick Armand-Gbaka Brede) with the book Standing Heavy (“Stand strong” – Russian) (Cote d’Ivoire),
  • Eva Balthazar with the book Boulder (“The Rock” – Russian) (Spain),
  • Chong Myung Kwan with the book Whale (“Whale” – Russian) (South Korea),
  • Maryse Conde with The Gospel According to the New World (France),
  • Georgy Gospodinov with the book Time Shelter (Bulgaria).

The winner of the award will be announced on May 23 in London. The prize will be £50,000 to be split between the author and translator of the winning book.
